The Giffoni Film Festival reveals itself, in fact, as that exclusive opportunity on the Italian scene that gives space to young people, investing in the latter and promoting new talents, who at the same time are able to enhance not only the territory, but to touch issues such as the protection of the environment and natural resources, respect for and conservation of the planet, technological innovation and sustainability. All while trying to raise awareness among young people to make them the main players in the initiative. Supporting the festival is not only a one-of-a-kind event, but it is a great opportunity to build an indestructible bridge with the new generations.
The action of Infratel and the Ministry of Economic Development for Giffoni fits into this context, which have decided to contribute to the event with the Piazza WiFi Italia project, installing 6 access points within the Municipality that allow festival participants, citizens and tourists to connect to the internet for free, by simply accessing the WiFi Italia app and promoting a short film that sensitizes young people to the inclusive use of the internet connection.
Connectivity, therefore, as a key in its social function, to include and break down barriers, strengthening the bonds of young people and adults, necessary actions like never before after the pandemic that has overwhelmed us in the last year and a half.
"Connessioni", the short film directed by Luca Apolito, expresses exactly this: the protagonists are two young people of our day, practiced in technology, who help their old music professor who has lost his memory to reconstruct his memories online, thanks to creation of a website, and put him in contact with his great love of the past through modern video call communication.
Tools that today can be taken for granted but which, on the contrary, are essential and significant: it is the value of the network together with the technology itself that make possible the most innate and simple human needs, that is to feel part of a society and of a community.
