Municipality of Montefalcone Appennino

We publish the speech by Giorgio Grifonelli, Mayor of Montefalcone Appennino, in the Marche region, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

"For a small village like ours, being part of a national digital community like the one created by the Piazza Wifi Italia project means taking one of the roads that lead to the relaunch of small towns, which must be able to provide increasingly efficient services to citizens and tourists.

The town, which has 385 inhabitants, is located in the province of Fermo at 749 meters above sea level, close to the Monti Sibillini National Park.

As evidenced by the discovery, in its territory, of clay finds, Montefalcone Appennino is an ancient center, it was a possession of the Farfensi family and then became a Free Municipality in 1214.

The natural environment is rich in fossiliferous areas and wooded areas; an ecosystem of considerable hiking and naturalistic interest. A SIC and Natura 2000 area that includes a high-hilly relief and reaches 904 m a.s.l. at the highest altitude with Monte Falcone. A resource to be preserved and exploited, using all the opportunities offered by technology, as in the case of the project of the Ministry of Economic Development developed by Infratel Italia, which creates a public and free Wifi network "
