There are over 250 municipalities where the Piazza WiFi Italia service is already active, which aims to allow citizens to connect for free and easily, through the dedicated app, to a free and widespread wifi network throughout the territory national.
The project, launched at the end of February 2019, has 45 million euros of new funding at its disposal, compared to the initial allocation of 8 million for the Municipalities affected by the 2016 earthquake in Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche and Umbria, with priority for the Municipalities with a population of less than 2,000 inhabitants.
Piazza WiFi Italia is a strategic project strongly supported by the Ministry of Economic Development to support the digitalization effort of the country through the provision of free and free connections starting from the smallest communities.
