Municipality of Camastra

We publish the speech by Dario Gaglio, mayor of Camastra, in Sicily, where free hotspots have been activated and which joins the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

“Camastra, originally Ramulia, a small town in the Province of Agrigento was founded in 1620. Traditionally the economy is based on agriculture; the cultivation of grapes, almond orchards, olive groves, fruit trees and cereals. Camastra is a destination for many tourists on the occasion of the religious and civil festival organized in honor of the Patron Saint San Biagio which is celebrated on the second Sunday of September. Enchanting for its position and landscape, it includes archaeological remains and monuments of historical and artistic interest.

In recent decades Camastra has been enriched with cutting-edge economic, social and sporting infrastructures of high value and quality, which make our center a tourist attraction, not only for the province of Agrigento but for the entire Sicilian hinterland. Joining Wifi Italia, for our administration, means offering a significant additional service to citizens and tourists".
