Municipality of Caianello

We publish the speech by Lamberto Di Caprio, Mayor of Caianello, in Campania, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

Caianello is a town located at the foot of Monte Maggiore, on the eastern side of the Roccamonfina massif and on the south-eastern side of Monte Santa Croce. The territory enjoys a good position, thanks to the important road infrastructures which, however, do not take away the charm of the rural landscape, where you can go for walks or bicycle excursions, attracting those who wish to relieve themselves from the strains of daily life.

Caianello is a municipality divided into several hamlets that recall both its historical and modern aspects. The name Caianello derives from Caiano, in turn, deriving from Cajanum, a small village already mentioned in the ancient pages of medieval testimonies, dated between 1308 and 1328. Caianello, the little Caiano, then arose from Caiano. However, the ancestor town developed in Roman times, so much so that it is still possible to admire a stretch of the Via Latina today.

A strategic point for communication routes, Caianello could not give up being part of the national free public connection network, such as Wifi Italia: a useful service to offer to citizens and tourists ".
