Municipality of Sennariolo

We publish the speech by Gianbattista Ledda, mayor of Sennariolo, in Sardinia, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

The territory of the municipality of Sennariolo was already inhabited in pre-Nuragic and Nuragic times, as evidenced by the presence of various sites. The cyclopean building "Su e s'olia", an anthropomorphic stone of the megalithic age and the sepulchral monument "Sa Copelcada", one of the very rare examples of the architectural typology of the "Allée couverte", present in Sardinia, dating back to around the beginning of Middle Bronze Age (3200-1700 BC). Among the nuraghi, however, "Fromigas", "Murcu", "Leortinas" and Rodeddu, are the most noteworthy.

The happy geographical position of the small town, between the waterways and the flat, has favored its population since the most remote times. The name of the town derives, in fact, from the toponym Sinariolo (composed of the suffix sin (between) and rios (watercourses). Sennariolo is one of the smallest municipalities in Sardinia, so it is important to be part of the public and free network Wifi Italia, created by Infratel, in order to offer a connection in our squares. Sennariolo will be like this in the world and not outside it”.
