Municipality Vietri sul mare

We publish the speech by Giovanni De Simone, Mayor of Vietri sul Mare, in Campania, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

“Vietri sul mare is one of the beautiful places that embellish the Amalfi coast. It is considered the capital of artistic and traditional ceramics; Vietri sul Mare is the southernmost of the towns along the coast. This small village has been home to the production of artistic ceramic objects since the 17th century, some of which can be admired at the famous Vietri Ceramics Museum. Known in the past as Marcina, the town has Etruscan origins but was also dominated by the Samnites, the Lucanians and finally the Romans, who here created a point of collection and embarkation for the products of the fields. Its historic center, full of finely decorated buildings and boutiques selling real ceramic masterpieces and local handicrafts, extends from a hilly area down to the waterfront. The city is famous for its clear sea and sandy beaches.

Joining the Wifi Italia Project, for our administration, is important because it makes us participate in the digitization process of Italy, which provides increasingly efficient services to citizens and tourists ".
