Municipality of Accumoli

We publish the speech by Franca D’Angeli, Mayor of Accumoli, in Lazio, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

Joining the Piazza WiFi Italia project is a way to accompany the difficult path of reconstruction, after the 2016 earthquake that hit our town hard. Giving citizens the opportunity to be part of a public and free wifi network is an important signal from an administration like ours, which is committed with all its energy now also against the pandemic emergency.

The territory of the Municipality of Accumoli, in the province of Rieti, is included in the perimeter of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, bordering the Sibillini National Park, and a place where the European Community has identified four sites of strategic importance for the conservation of biodiversity.

Crossed by the consular road Salaria it borders the region of Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo and the territory of the Municipality of Amatrice. Relevant naturalistic importance is characterized by the WWf Lago Secco Oasis, a site of community importance in Pantani, with summer nature trails, including the Sentiero Italia, equipped areas, accommodation facilities, winter cross-country ski trails, stretch of the River Tronto. reserved for no-kill fishing and sport fishing lakes.

The mountain municipal area ranges from 650 to 1800 meters above sea level and is an example of the importance that the municipality of Accumoli has had throughout its history.
