Municipality of Villagrande Strisaili

We publish the speech by Alessio Seoni, Mayor of Villagrande Strisaili, in Sardegna, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

“Our administration has decided to join the“ Piazza Wifi Italia ”project, created by Infratel Italia on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Development, to give citizens an extra opportunity; the development of digital infrastructures is very strategic, the added value of this initiative is that it is a free and free public network.
Villagrande is a town in the upper Ogliastra, on the border with the Barbagia di Ollolai. The main town is located on a slope of Mount Suana and develops between 650 and 750 m of altitude. Mount Suana protects the town to the west, while Mount Isadalu and Mount Orguda dominate to the north and Mount Idòlo to the south, all mountains of the Gennargentu chain, which exceed 1300 meters in altitude. To the east it overlooks the Ogliastra plain with a panoramic view of the Tyrrhenian Sea in the stretch of the Gulf of Arbatax.
The territory, of 240 km², is the third largest among the municipalities of Sardinia. Spring waters and streams abound with a habitat favorable to the woods: in addition to holm oak and oak, cork oak, juniper, alder, willow and holly.
Inhabited since the pre-Nuragic (presence of domus de janas) and Nuragic (presence of some nuraghi and various artifacts), the town is among those with the highest concentration in the world of over one hundred year olds in proportion to births. "
