With this brief presentation by the Municipality of Agliè, I sincerely wish to thank Infratel Italia and the Ministry of Economic Development for the important initiative implemented on the national territory of Wi-Fi Italy. A project to which we decided to join immediately to increase the digitization of our country, through the Piazza Wi-Fi Italia call we were able to obtain the activation of 6 hotspots in the places of greatest turnout and allow citizens and the numerous tourists who visit us every year to connect for the most diverse needs. We are also working to federate pre-existing internal networks, so as to bring a free and quality connection to the population even within our facilities.
The Municipality of Agliè is located in Canavese, within the Metropolitan City of Turin and boasts a millennial history, which according to some scholars dates back to the ancient Roman site known by the name of Alladium, whose original nucleus was most likely located on the hills of Madonna delle Grazie fraction. It also includes the hamlets of San Grato and Santa Maria and celebrates its patronal feast, dedicated to San Massimo, every first Sunday in July.
Agliè houses in its main square the famous ducal castle, of medieval origin, with subsequent modifications and extensions and part of the Savoy Residences, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1997. The name of Agliè is also linked to the figure of the poet Guido Gozzano, who often stayed at the Meleto, an Art Nouveau villa, currently open to visitors, owned by the senator grandfather, Massimo Mautino. In recent years Agliè has been increasing investments for the realization of cultural initiatives and nature and food and wine tours; a path to enhance the territory and its riches that has led us to be included, thanks to the collaboration with Will Media, among the most beautiful villages in Italy from which to do Smart Working.
