Municipality of Ascoli Piceno

We publish the speech of Marco Fioravanti, mayor of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marches, where free hotspots have been activated and which is in addition to the municipalities that have joined the Project Wifi Italy.

"On behalf of the whole community of Ascoli Piceno, I want to thank Infratel Italia for allowing us to activate in our territory the important project "Piazza Wifi Italia".

The aim of our Administration is to project the city of Cento Torri towards a new frontier of digitalization: in a historical period like the one we are experiencing, it is essential to be able to offer rapid and effective services that are increasingly adapted to the needs of citizens and tourists.

As Administration we had already allocated resources to implement the ability to connect the territory through free and free Wifi network points, thanks to "Piazza Wifi Italia" we will be able to ensure an even wider and more complete service. To welcome with open arms those tourists and visitors who annually go to our city.

The tourist guide "Lonely Planet", the most known by travelers, has placed the Marche Region in second place overall in the international ranking "Best in Travel 2020": the only Italian destination in the Top10, behind only the Silk Road in Central Asia. It is impossible not to stop at Ascoli Piceno, a beautiful city just a few steps from the sea and the mountains: here you can immerse yourself in history and traditions, to discover the extraordinary artistic, architectural and gastronomic heritage of the Cento Torri.

A small paradise on Earth, where art, culture and food are combined with the fantastic natural environment. From the beautiful Piazza del Popolo, a true city salon, to Piazza Arringo and Piazza Ventidio Basso. From the white travertine of palaces and historic churches to the Cloister of San Francesco, the Malatesta Fort and the bridges that connect the city districts. Getting lost in the rue of the old town, letting yourself be carried away and overwhelmed by the sounds of the re-enactment of the Quintana and the flavors of our cuisine, starting from the inevitable Ascolana Olives."
