Municipality of Rimella

We publish the speech by Riccardo Peco, mayor of Rimella, in Piedmont, where the free hotspots have been activated and in addition to the Municipalities that have joined the WiFi Italia Project.

"Rimella was the first Walser community founded in Valsesia and is the only one present in Val Mastallone. Even today, the inhabitants speak the ancient Walser language (tittschu) and, on holidays, dress in traditional costumes. The territory has been preserved uncontaminated, maintaining the original and primitive architecture in the 15 hamlets. The three valleys of the Rimellese area, with wonderful landscapes and breathtaking views, rich in the flora and fauna of the Valsesian mountains, in the summer are enlivened by the presence of shepherds who climb with their herds in the verdant high pastures and in whose huts you can appreciate the goat and cow cheeses, with a good steaming polenta. Tourists can enjoy itineraries to learn about life in the mountain pastures or walk the paths that lead to ancient churches.
Also to enhance these specificities of ours we have joined the initiative of the Mise to be part of a public and free wifi network, and never as today we understand the strategic importance of giving our fellow citizens the opportunity to have an efficient connection through which also access the services of our administration.
